Rhonda Rhea

Raised in unincorporated county between two small towns in Washington, Magic found Rhonda in 1993. Rhonda was invited by a friend to join him at a Golden Gloves boxing match. She has always loved boxing and it is still favorite past time. She grew up spending Saturday nights on the couch with her Daddy watching Saturday Night Fights and Lawrence Welk. Her friend, an IBF judge offered her a front row seat (she had been bugging him for one for a long time). Finally, he gave in - but only in trade. He would give her a front row seat, and $250 - if she would in turn work the match as a ring-card girl. The deal was done.

After the match there was a party for the fighters at the top of the Hilton - in Seattle. Rhonda was invited and went. The entertainer at the party was a Magician. He approached her and asked if she wanted to see some magic. Well, of course she did. He started doing some close up magic for her and the crowd quickly began to gather around. Feeling a bit claustrophobic she thanked the Magician and turned to walk away. He followed her saying "Wait, I need an assistant, you would be perfect." He handed Rhonda his card and said "Call me". She went on to perform as a Magicians Assistant with that Magician for about 7 years.

Rhonda moved back from Europe after 4 years of living in Switzerland - she longed for all things familiar and thus returned to Seattle. She missed her favorite pastime - MAGIC, and contacted the best Magician in Seattle, Steffan Soule, to see if perhaps he needed an assistant. She thought he would say no. She knew that his leading lady was his wife and she was not going anywhere.

However, one day she decided that she had nothing to lose unless she did not make the call and so she called. Come to find out they were thinking of adding an assistant to the crew. Steffan offered her the chance to come in and meet with him. She was hired and became the youngest and newest of 3 assistants. For the next year she soaked up as much knowledge as she could from Steffan. She was honored to be with him at any moment, even if not performing, to learn as much as she could from him.

At the end of 2007 Rhonda decided to move to California and pursue trying to find a magician for whom to be the leading lady. She moved to La Jolla and tried a couple magicians - but, really she was thinking more about putting together her own show - a cabaret style vaudeville type act. The idea continued to grow on her and finally at the end of 2009 she decided to go for it. She booked her first show within a week and is working on currently working on a show to educate children through magic on the importance of recycling.
